Yoga Q&A

Yoga PoseWhat is Yoga?
Yoga connects the mind to the body and spirit, through breath and movement.

I am not flexible, can I still practice yoga?
Yes!  Yoga is accessible to everyone!  Yoga stretches the muscles and strengthens the joints, everyone can benefit.   There are a variety of options within the poses that can offer different intensity levels based upon each person.  In yoga, there is no judgment or competition, so you practice based upon what your body allows you to do.

What do I wear to a yoga class?
Comfortable loose fitting clothes bring a sticky yoga mat, water bottle, blanket and an open mind!  Share your class and bring a friend!

I’ve never taken a yoga class, what should I expect?
Class begins with centering for a few minutes, followed by warm up poses ususally done on the floor, then moving up to standing poses and or flows (linking several poses together) and then working balance.  Moving to longer holding floor poses to further stretch the body.  Class ends in savasana, a resting position that allows your body to absorb all the health benefits of your yoga practice!
